Source: Greencastle Daily Banner 14 Jan 1929 p 2

Nettie Evelyn Awbery daughter of Sherman and Pearl Awbrey was born near Coatesville, Ind Jan 2, 1919 (sic) and departed this life Jan 4, 1929 at the age of 19 years and 2 days being a child that never had the privileges of enjoying the pleasures of good health she was unable to attend the public schools to exceed the intermediate grades. She spent the majority of her life in Greencastle, while making her home with a friend Mrs. Renedreak (?) near Rockville she became a member of the Christian Church which she became a true Christian until her death, she was kind and loving nature seeking much of her pleasures and companionships from the many children who were her faithful friends. She was also a child who was very devoted to her mother clinging to her for support in all the walks of life. Her stepfather Mr. Jesse Hinton was also a great salvation in supplying her with care and attention that is needed to fulfill the requirements in the young ones life who at all times she seemed to love so much. Besides a host of relatives and friends she leaves to mourn her loss, a mother, father, one sister Marie and two brothers, Robert and Hubert.  Our loss is God’s gain. We know there is one more Angel added to the number now in heaven. The Lord in kindness freely gave. His holy name now let us bless in sovereignty, he takes away;; because his love doth with us stay.

Card of Thanks – We wish to thank our many friends and neighbors for their kindness and sympathy shown us during the death of our dear daughter, also we wish to thank Mr. McCurry and Rev. Bruner for his words of consolation and the singers and the pall bearers and all who assisted in any way. Also for the beautiful flowers. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Hinton and children.  - kbz
